I was honored when my friend Tammy Neil asked me to moderate #FledChat (Florida Education Chat) tonight on Twitter. The #FledChat is held every Wednesday at 8:00pm est. During the month of July, they have had guest moderators…I am just one of four. Being that I’m an ELL teacher, I have decided to focus my chat on ELLs in the classroom. I used Canva to create some cute graphics to advertise the chat and Tweetdeck to schedule out the tweets so I have one less thing to worry about during the chat tonight. I am excited about the chat and hope I represent Florida well tonight.
Here are the questions for the chat…
8:00 pm Intros Welcome to #FledChat tonight. Please introduce yourself and share if you’re fortunate enough to have ELLs in your classroom.
8:05 pm Q1: Visuals are vital for ELLs. Tell how you use visuals in your classroom. #FledChat
8:15 pm Q2: We need to create accommodations for our ELLs so they can be successful. Tell how you use accommodations in your classroom. #FledChat http://melissaeddington.com/2015/01/15/english-language-learner-helpers-accommodations/

8:35 pm Q4: Let’s talk about what supports we have in our school to help us with our ELLs. Bilingual aides? ELL teachers? ELL tutors? Nothing? #FledChat
8:45 pm Q5: What supports would you like in place to help you with your job of teaching? How can an ELL teacher best support you? #FledChat
8:55 pm Q6: A new non-English speaker arrives in your classroom. What will you do in order to support them? Give specifics please. #FledChat
8:57 pm All that’s left is to save your memories. What did you take away from our #FLedChat road trip tonight?
