Ask and You Shall Receive…

Last week my elementary school in which I work was told they can create a MakerSpace area in our school with a grant of $8,000. I volunteered to be a part of the team that would design, fill and purchase items for our space. As of now, we are unsure of where this space will be so we are thinking it will need to be mobile.

The team and I began to google MakerSpaces and found some resources but I wanted more. I contacted some of my PLN through voxer…within minutes I had answers and tweets pointing me to people who could help even more than they could. The power of the internet…It’s amazing. With the help of my friend Tammy Neil (@MathNeil), she gave me contact information for Diana Rendina (@DianaLRendina) and the MakerSpace conversation began.

Diana first asked me a few questions to get a better idea of our space, ideas and what plans we had made so far. She took that info and sent me so many ideas and suggestions. She sent me many links to her and other websites to explore to get even more ideas and suggestions. I feel so much better prepared for our meeting this Wednesday as we begin to really think about this space. Here are a few links she shared with me…
